About Stephen

Stephen is an associate in our banking & finance team. Stephen works with financial institutions in the areas of secured lending, remediation, restructuring, security reviews and enforcement of security.

Stephen also acts for receivers, advising on pre and post-appointment issues and for various SPVs advising in relation to loan sales, security reviews, appointment of receivers, drafting and advising in relation to compromise agreements and rectification of title and security issues.

Having completed his training with Beauchamps, Stephen worked for a period of three years in Australia where he gained experience in the areas of debt recovery, commercial litigation, bankruptcy and insolvency, before returning to the firm in 2013.

Stephen is also qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales and in New South Wales.

Recent experience

  • Allied Irish Banks plc in relation to a restructure of facilities to various borrowers
  • A number of large banks in relation to the appointment of fixed charge receivers to a significant portfolio of residential investment properties and providing ongoing advice in relation to issues that arise insofar as they relate to the receiverships (for example: in respect of the remediation of title defects and provision of advices on the scope of assets over which a Receiver has been appointed)
  • Receivers in relation to their discharge as statutory receivers and their re-appointment as contractual receivers and the resultant effect on their powers as receivers
  • Various SPVs in relation to the compromise agreements with borrowers, loan sales and security reviews
