About Patrick
Patrick is an associate on the Employment & Benefits team. He provides specialist legal and employment advices to a broad network of Irish and international clients ranging from corporate and public sector bodies to professional private clients.
Patrick has gained a reputation as a trusted adviser across all aspects of the employment relationship, both non-contentious and contentious including representation before the Workplace Relations Commission WRC, Labour Court and other judicial bodies in respect of statutory and civil suit claims. Patrick assists clients on end-to-end employment relationship management including recruitment practices, contract/policy review and provision, managing workplace disputes and absenteeism, employee and working time management, guiding internal HR processes, responding to DSAR and FOI requests and guiding industrial relations issues. Patrick also advises on case law and the application of both Irish and European legislation in dealing with and responding to more complex employment litigation and contentious matters.
Relevant experience
- Various clients on recruitment and business growth by advising on recruitment practices, the provision of contractual and policy documentation and on general HR and employee management.
- Public and private sector clients on contentious and non-contentious employment law issues, including compliance with employment, health and safety and data protection legislation and obligations, conducting internal HR processes (ranging from workplace grievances to disciplinary and / or protected disclosure investigations) and the controlled management of employee exits.
- Employers in complex and novel employment litigation before the Workplace Relations Commission, the Labour Court and other judicial and civil court forums.
