Family business sector
Our family business group is one of the leading practices of its kind in Ireland. We have advised generations of family businesses, both large and small, for over 150 years. We experience, at first hand, the enormous contribution this community makes to the economy.
According to the CSO, family businesses account for more than 75% of all firms in Ireland, and contribute approximately 50% of Ireland’s GDP and employment. Irish family businesses face a particular set of challenges to their long-term sustainability, with just 14% of Irish family businesses having a fully documented succession plan, only 53% having a strategy fit for the digital age and 36% having family and business strategies that are not aligned (Source: PwC Family Business Survey, 2017).
