In a landmark decision, this positive outcome affects claims made by over 1,000 Irish pubs and restaurants, in which the judge found that a policy sold by FBD covered losses the pubs suffered by having to close due to the public health emergency.
Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise Leo Varadkar described today's decision as a "very significant judgment in a major test case".

Sean's Bar, located in Athlone is officially Ireland's oldest pub, established around AD 900, as certified by the Guinness Book of World Records.
