We advised the owners of Arachas, one of Ireland's largest non-life insurance brokers, in relation to the buyout of its business by its senior management.

UK private equity house, Sovereign Capital Partners LLP backed the buyout.

This deal is important to Arachas as the financial backing from Sovereign allows Arachas to grow its business further though a combination of organic growth and bolt-on acquisitions. Sovereign, which operates a “buy and build” strategy to help investee companies grow, has invested in more than 240 transactions since it was established in 2001.

The team was led by partner and head of corporate & commercial / M&A, Shaun O’Shea, and supported by associate, Tim McDowell, and solicitor, Maria O’Brien. Dermot Casserly, partner and head of employment & benefits, and associate, Triona Cody, advised on the employment aspects of the deal.
