Beauchamps’ hosts event to coincide with Charity Trustees’ Week 2018 focused on financing and fundraising issues in the charity and not-for-profits sector.
On 14 November 2018, Beauchamps held an event for the charities and not for profit sector with special guests Ivan Cooper, Director of Public Policy at The Wheel, Helen Martin, Director of Regulation at Charities Regulator and Deirdre Carwood, Head of Forensic Investigations & Corporate Intelligence at KPMG.
The event, which was moderated by Claire Callanan, Partner in Beauchamps, provided a forum for clients, and key leaders in the not for profit and charity sector to engage on the latest developments in the sector and provide the latest guidance to assist you in dealing with reputational and public trust issues.
The event was attended by representatives from the sector whose organisations focused on a wide range of issues including health, social housing, youth development and support, education, and suicide and bereavement.

The event looked at:
- Decline and growth trends of trust and engagement in the sector and in donations and volunteering
- The Charities Governance Code, the key dates leading up to its implementation and what this means for charity trustees and the standards they must meet to manage their charity
- Fraud in the charities and not-for-profit sector and what steps those organisations can take to minimise their risk and have an action and response plan in place
- General update for the sector in 2018 and other key issues in particular the growing cost of compliance
